Rocio Vargas is an adventurous storyteller-turned-author. She was born in Panama, Republic of Panama of a Calo (Gypsy) father from Sevilla and a Gacho (non Gypsys) Panamanian mother. She was educated on two continents,offering her a remarkably diverse education. Rocio currently lives in Miami, Florida where she sat on the Board of Directors of the prestigious South Writers Association for many years. Among the positions she held during her those years, were, Secreatry, Events Coordinator, Mango Conferance Director & Chairperson., and Chaired Miami DadeBook Fair Commity ..
Rocio has also been a judge of literary competitions and is part of A-Z Libris which is an international and altruistic organization, which promotes and supports writers and artists, inside and outside the United States of America.One of Rocio's honors has been to be a Guest Speaker Panelist for the International Life to Paper Book Festival.
Rocio’s goal is to bring a voice to the millions of Gypsys that died in the labor/concentration camps throughout Spain and Europe.
Her inspiration for writing this book when she saw an appalling, compelling story of how the Gypsys / Rom / Rromani----were being treated today mainly in Europe, just for being born with their beliefs of freedom. They Roma / Gypsys have no motherland to call their own, they are a blood line.
Through the publication of “Echoes of My Clan,” Rocio helps readers will realize that with love of family, respect for elders and compassion for one’s fellow man, everyone will be able to confront anything life gives them. Rocio tambien a sido juez de concursos literariosy forma parte de A-Z Libris quees una organización internacional y altruista, que promueve y apoya a los literatos y artistas, dentro y fuera de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica. Uno de los honores que tenido Rocío ha sido ser panelista invitada para el Festival Internacional del Libro -Life to Paper.
El objetivo de Rocío es dar voz a los millones de gitanos que murieron en los campos de trabajo / concentración en España y Europa.
Su inspiración para escribir este libro fue cuando vio una historia abrumadora y convincente de cómo los Gitanos / Roms / Romani ---- eran tratados hoy principalmente en Europa, solo por nacer con sus creencias de libertad. Los Romaníes / Gitanos no tienen patria que llamar propia, son una línea de sangre.
A través de la publicación de "Ecoes De Mi Clan", Rocío ayuda a los lectores a darse cuenta de que con amor a la familia, respeto a los ancianos y compasión por el prójimo, todos podrán enfrentar cualquier cosa que la vida les dé. Y aunque este libro es una novela sobre los Romaníes / Romaníes/Gitanos, bien podría representar a muchas otras culturas oprimidas.
